Welcome to Class 1.
In class 1 the teachers are Mrs Harrison and Mrs Haworth. Mrs Harrison teaches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Haworth teaches on Thursday and Friday. Mrs Jones supports in class 1 everyday of the week.
We’ve had a very busy half term and the children have worked hard on their end of key stage assessments. The outcomes of their assessments will be reported to you towards the end of next half term.
Our new topic ‘Home Sweet Home’ will have a science focus about living things and their environment. We will be learning about different habitats e.g. woodland, sea shore, polar and how creatures are adapted / suited to their environment. The children will also be exploring and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive. We’ll be looking at how animals obtain food and making a model of a simple food chain.
Towards the end of the half term our focus will be on memories, changes and aspirations for the future. This will culminate with a special graduation ceremony which will mark the end of your child’s time at Ryecroft. The ceremony will be on Wednesday 5th July at 2pm and the children will be invited to stay for a ‘graduation party’ 3.15pm-4.30pm on the same day.
