Class 1

Welcome to Class 1

Welcome to Class 1. Mrs Harrison and Mrs Haworth are the class teachers and Mrs Jones is the teaching assistant. If you have any questions or queries please come and see us in class.

The children have now completing their Key Stage 1 Assessments. They have worked extremely hard and persevered even when they have found things tricky. Their results will be sent home during the next half term.

Our work for the exhibition is almost complete. Please come and see our excellent art work at the exhibition this term. We have been on two exciting visits during this half term – to The Deep and Rosehill Park (see photos).

Our final topic for the year is called ‘Home Sweet Home’. We will be learning about living things and their habitats and making comparisons. We will be focussing on sea shore, woodlands, rainforests, polar regions, deserts, ponds and oceans. Food chains will also be a focus and our topic will conclude with finding out about the effects of pollution.  Please encourage your child to investigate further at home. We would love to share their findings with the rest of the class.

As in previous years, the whole school will be visiting the EIS on Wednesday 8th June. This is a fantastic sporting event which you are welcome to come and watch. On Thursday 9th June we will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with our own outdoor party (weather permitting). Year 2 will be having their graduation ceremony followed by their party on Wednesday 29th June. This will be their final week at Ryecroft and we wish them luck and success at Rosehill. We will miss them!

If you have and questions or queries please come into class and ask.
